Hat-Yai is the major city in Songkhla province. It is recognized as the trade, commercial, transportation and educational center of southern Thailand. It serves as the gateway to Malaysia and Singapore. Old market and shopping centers at Hat-Yai offer numerous interesting products. Hat-Yai City Municipality Park is a recreational area for Hat-Yai residents as well asother visitors .The park complex is decorated with beautiful flowering and ornamental plants. On the hilltop is locate a shrine of Hindu god Brahma and on the north side of hilltop is locate the large marble statue of the Chinese goddess Kuan-Im. |

![]() | Koh Yor is located in the midst Songkhla lake It is linked to Songkhla mainland by the Tinsulanon bridge. Koh Yor is famous for its hand-woven fabric, known as "Pha Tho Koh Yor". On the north part of Koh Yor is the Southern Study Institute, featuring an exhibition of southern art and culture. |
Samila beach is characterized by fine white sand lined with shady pine trees. From Samila beach one can see Leam Son Onn to the northeast and Chalathas beach to the south. The major landmark of the beach is the golden Mermaid statue. |

Khao Tang Kuan is located the important temples of Songkhla. Built during the Nakhon Si Thammarat era using the Thavaravadee art style. On the hilltop, a panoramic view of Songkhla can be clearly seen. |

Songkhla Zoo. The newest national zoo of Thailand, is located on a 911 Rai at Songkhla-Chana road. The open zoo houses a variety of animal species, domestic and foreign, ranging from camels, tigers red bulls, colorful birds, etc. The zoo serve not only as a place for viewing wild animals, but also as an indea bird's eye view spot for admiring the scenic beauty of Songkhla. |

Khao Nam Khang National Park. The area in the park is covered with virgin forests where there are two waterfalls called Tone Dard Fah and Tone Lard Fah. This parks can be accessed by two routes: 26 kms form Sadao and 31 kms from Nathawee Near the national park is the Khao Nam Khang Historical Tunnel, which used to be a stronghold of Communist Party of Malaya. Construction of the tunnel began in 1972, and it took nine years to complete. The tunnel is the longest one in Thailand with three storeys and 16 passageways. It is about 600 meters long and can accommodate 200 people. Since 1987, the communist insurgents gave up and began cooperating with the goverment. Later, the tunnel was developed as part of the Khao Nam Khang National Park. |
