adaptation is mandatory for us living in the age of technology and changes. best care for patients is not always surgery, i agree with that. to survive through the changes i think we should learn to adapt and study more about each intervention in details for advantage and disadvantage. i have often been thinking about taking a course in intervention radiology as a minor study to general surgery training. obsolete operations are of course the treasures of the past but we can be more fluent in choosing newer and better means of treatments for our patients and that is something that counts -- as we are the new general surgeons. I also dreamt about going to battle field (if there is still any around) and learn to be one of those so called war surgeons. thailand is still much far behind the western world state of the art medicine. surgeons without knowledge of non-operative treatments can never be called doctors but butchers. as long as we focus on the best care for our patients the future is not too far to reach. i am glad to be on this same road to the ultimate dreams with you guys. cheers. ways to go, brothers.
