ผู้ป่วยรายนี้มีการติดเชื้อโดย Phthirus pubis (pubic lice, crabs หรือโลน) ซึ่งเป็นแมลงที่ดูดเลือด อาศัยอยู่ที่ pubic region แต่บางครั้งอาจมาอาศัยอยู่ที่หน้า ขนตา รักแร้ หน้าอกและ rectal regions ได้

ผู้ป่วยอาจได้รับ pubic lice จากการมีเพศสัมพันธ์หรือจากการสัมผัสกัน

การรักษา ยาทา เช่น lindane, malathion, และ pyrethrin อาจรักษาด้วย mechanical removal with fine forceps, yellow mercuric oxide eye ointment, cryotherapy, 20% fluorescein solution, physostigmine ointment, petroleum jelly
ยากินที่ใช้ได้ผลคือ ivermectin ขนาด 200-µg/กก. กิน 2 ครั้งห่างกัน 1 สัปดาห์ค่ะ

การทำ Dermoscopy พบว่าจุดแดงๆ คือ pubic lice (Phthirus pubis), หรืออีกชื่อหนึ่งคือ "crabs" (รูป B)
pubic louse เป็น sexually transmitted pediculus การมีชื่อเรียกว่า pubic lice เนื่องจากพบได้บ่อยที่สุดที่ pubic hair และสามารถพบได้ที่ลำตัว แขนขา และขนตาได้ในรายที่มีจำนวนของ pubic lice มาก
Dermoscopy revealed the typical broad body of the crab and the large middle and hind legs, which have thick claws for grasping hairs (รูป C).

ผู้ป่วยได้รับการรักษาด้วยการทา permethrin 5% cream ทั่วตัว 2 ครั้งซึ่งห่างกัน 1 สัปดาห์ และรักษาทุกคนในบ้านด้วย ผู้ป่วยหายดีและไม่กลับเป็นอีก
