The objective of this study was to survey a percentage of orthodontic patients who continue treatment until it is finished, and discontinue treatment before it is finished, and the factors that affect the continuation and discontinuation of treatment. A retrospective study was Prince of Songkla University. A total of 1,624 orthodontic patients were studied. It was found that 22.17% continued until the treatment was finished and 26.48% discontinued before the treatment was finished. Data from the mailed questionnaires show that both groups were mostly students aged between 11-15 years old. The questionnaires also show that factors contributing to continuation of treatment are a good impression of the service, and convenience in travelling for treatment. However, from the discontinuation of treatment group we were informed that inconvenience in coming for treatment was the main factor.
