Blood parameters and immune function in black tiger shrimp infected with luminescent bac-
teria (Vibrio harveyi), white spot virus (SEMBV) and yellow-head virus (YHV) were studied. It was found that the infected shrimp showed reductions in the immune parameters including total hemo-cytes, phenoloxidase activity and phagocytic activity. The results also showed that viral infection had a greater effect on the immune system than did bacterial infection.
