Effects of some environmental factors on blood parameters change and the immune system in black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) were investigated. The results showed that total hemocyte count and phenoloxidase activating system were not effected at pH 6.0 However, clearance ability of hemolymph was reduced in comparison with the control group which was kept at pH 7.8. Low concentration of dissolved oxygen at 0.9-1.2 ppm resulted in reduction of total hemocyte count, pheno-loxidase activity, clearance ability and phagocytic activity when compared with normal dissolved oxygen value at 5.0-5.8 ppm. The reduction of the above parameters was also found in shrimp kept at 25oC in comparison with the control group at 30oC.
