Styrene-b-Isoprene-b-Styrene (SIS) copolymer emulsion can be prepared from 15% solution
of SIS pellet in benzene. Sodium dodecyl sulfate, bentonite was added to the solution as an emulsifier and protected colloid, respectively. Then the added solution was stirred for 2 hours at speed of 180
rpm. After that benzene is get rid of by distillation. It was found that the least amount of soap used
is 3.3 phr. but it coagulated within 8 weeks at pH 6.78,while the suitable amount of soap is 13.3 phr. with had stability for 12 weeks without changing in tensile strength property. In addition, using vultamol with bentonite as dispersing agent can raised up pH. The obtaining SIS emulsion is use
for coating natural latex gloves having a friction coefficient similar to powder gloves. Furthermore
this coated gloves show lower soluble protein than normal latex gloves which can be accepted by standard.
