This is a retrospective study of cerebral metastasis between January, 1985 and December, 1997. We found 121 patients with cerebral metastasis. The mean age was 53.6 years. The most common primary tumor was lung (28.9%) and breast (24.8%) carcinoma. Most of the cerebral metastases were found in the parietal lobe and more than half were a single tumor. The treatment modalities varied. Mean survival time of 37 patients with known course was 115 days. The patients with cerebral mata-stasis have a poor prognosis and short survival. Our study provides a basic database for future research for infering survival of these patients.
