The radioactive of three elements including potassium, uranium and thorium in rocks of various types in Pattani province were investigated by using gamma counter. It was found that the potassium contents in igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks were 6.29%, 2.21% and 1.54%, respectively. The uranium equivalent contents in igneous rock, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks were found to be 22.51 ppm, 11.25 ppm and 14.13 ppm, respectively while thorium contents in these rocks were 21.78% ppm, 18.88 ppm and 18.15 ppm, respectively. The results obtained were
similar to those reported by Pungtip Ranglek (2538) for igneous rock at Liwong Pluton site in Tepha, Natawi, Chana and Sabayoi districts, Songkhla province and have to six times higher than those re-ported by Kittichai Wattananikorn (2527) for igneous rock in northern part of Thailand.
