Long term prognosis of Legg-Calve-Perthes' disease depends mainly on the deformity of the femoral head. This study aimed at comparing the radiographic parameters (neck-shaft angle, acetabular index, center-edge angle, medial joint space distance, epiphyseal involvement, vertical growth dis-tance and lateral horizontal growth distance) between affected and nonaffected sides. Radiographs of 36 patients with unilateral affected hips were used in this study. Correlation amont factors such as age, sex and all parameters were also tested. About 56% of the cases had vertical growth disturbance and 53% of lateral horizontal growth disturbance respectively. All of the radiographic parameters of the affected side were significantly different from the non-affected sides. Age was significantly correlated with neck-shaft angle, acetabular index, lateral horizontal growth distance and vertical growth distance, while sex was not correlated with any parameters as same as epiphyseal involve- ment. The result of this study may explain the etiopathogenesis and prognosis of this disease.
