Songklanagarind hospital

On February 22, 1982, Songklanagarind Hospital began providing services with 100 beds. It has expanded services continually, now having 703 beds and averaging 1,500 outpatients per day. The primary purpose of the Hospital is to provide a teaching institution for students of medicine, nursing and public health. In order to achieve this objective the Hospital cares for patients and is developing a center for specializations in southern Thailand. In this environment of teaching and service materials, opportunities for research are also provided. In 1996, the Hospital officially opened the new six story building named “Prince Mahidol of Songkla Centenary Building” commemorating the 100th year since His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla’s birth. This building contains emergency services, the trauma unit and the neuro surgery unit, and a transplant unit, rehabilitation center and nephrology center will be opened soon. To provide the best services, quality should parallel the growth of the Hospital; therefore, a quality assurance system was established to ensure optimum services. The following articles describe new services that reflect the mission of the Hospital to provide modern equipment and quality health care.
